We’re a week in and how many of your resolutions have you maintained? Or perhaps this is a year where, like many of us, it’s about getting through things day-by-day so the resolutions and plans are small scale rather than huge ambitions.
I was reading this archive piece originally published on The Conversation which offered a list of ways to boost willpower. It’s doing the rounds again - so falls into the evergreen content files that for many publishers is incredibly important. It’s material that can be reused again and again and as this particular article was published under a creative commons licence, it’s not wonder it’s appearing all over the shot when it comes to the SEO friendly New Years need for content this year (I stumbled across it as a native piece on Yahoo News first before clocking the date and going back to source).
It’s written for an American audience clearly but the tips are general and not culture specific including self-compassion and a positive outlook.
One of my resolutions has been to flex my writing muscles more and keep trying different things out of my comfort zone. It’s not unusual to do that but to remain committed to doing that means being committed to feeling awkward. Interestingly -
